The Newport Potters Guild is a new ceramics guild, gallery and studio located at 302 Thames Street, in the historic district of Newport, Rhode Island. Our Gallery offers an array of functional pottery, decorative sculpture and clay jewelry for sale. The Studio offers classes, workshops and private tutorials for children and adults.

The Newport Potters Guild Gallery features ceramic artwork by local, regional and international artists. Many of the pieces sold in the Gallery are created on-site by Newport Potters Guild’s Artist-in-Residence in our very own studio. The Gallery is dedicated to supporting local artists—established and emerging—and acts as a showroom for their work.


The Newport Potters Guild Studio is adjacent to the Gallery. The Studio offers weekly classes, specialty workshops with visiting-artists and individualized, private tutorials for every skill level. Children’s classes are also taught on site. Every student will experience hands-on instruction of techniques by Newport Potters Guild’s accomplished and diverse staff. The Studio encourages creativity and supports a community of artists committed to the pursuit of art through clay. Whether you are an advanced thrower, an intermediate sculptor, or a clay novice, the staff at the Studio can suit your needs in a warm and welcoming environment.
